Doral jumps into the heart of the Florida swing, Valspar heads to May, and the Sunshine State keeps all five of its PGA Tour events in the final season before the Tour's 2028 overhaul.
The PGA Tour released its 2027 schedule on Aug. 26, and Florida holds on to all five of its stops. What changes is the order. Four of them now run in four straight weeks, from late February through mid-March. The fifth moves to May.
The timing matters. 2027 is the last season in the Tour's current format. In 2028, the PGA Tour moves to a two-tier model with a Championship Series and a Challenger Series, and which events land in which series has not been fully announced. Every Florida stop plays 2027 with one eye on what comes next.
The 2027 Florida schedule

Doral moves into the swing
The Cadillac Championship brought the PGA Tour back to Doral in 2026 for the first time since 2016, but it was played in early May. For 2027 it moves into the first week of March, between PGA National and TPC Sawgrass.
That sets up a strong storyline. Cameron Young won at Doral in 2026, going wire-to-wire on the Blue Monster and finishing 6 shots clear of Scottie Scheffler at 19 under. Two months earlier he won THE PLAYERS. Young, who lives in Palm Beach Gardens, will now defend both titles in back-to-back weeks.
Sawgrass and Bay Hill trade places
In 2026, the Arnold Palmer Invitational came the week before THE PLAYERS. In 2027 that flips: THE PLAYERS runs March 11-14, and Bay Hill follows on March 18-21.
Akshay Bhatia is the defending champion at Bay Hill after beating Daniel Berger in a playoff in 2026. Like the Genesis Invitational and the Memorial, the Arnold Palmer keeps its 36-hole cut to the top 50 and ties, plus anyone within 10 shots of the lead.
Two Signature Events in three weeks
The Cadillac Championship and the Arnold Palmer Invitational are 2 of the Tour's 8 Signature Events, the elevated events with purses of at least $20 million. In 2027, Florida hosts both of them inside a three-week window, with THE PLAYERS and its 750 FedExCup points in between. For fans who want to see the top of the world ranking in person, early March in Florida is about as good as the regular season gets.
Valspar heads to May
The biggest change for Tampa Bay golf fans is the Valspar Championship. In 2026 it closed out the Florida swing in late March, and Matt Fitzpatrick won it at 11 under, one week after finishing second at THE PLAYERS.
In 2027, Innisbrook's Copperhead Course hosts May 6-9. That puts the Valspar between THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson and the Truist Championship, a Signature Event, and two weeks ahead of the PGA Championship at PGA Frisco. Warmer weather, a new spot on the calendar and a different set of players building toward a major: how the field shapes up will be the story to watch this spring.
Still to come
Two pieces of the 2027 puzzle are still open:
- The fall schedule. The 2027 FedExCup Fall events will be announced later, along with eligibility details for the 2028 Championship and Challenger series.
- One TBD event. An opposite-field event the week of the Genesis Invitational (Feb. 15-21) has no venue yet.
Either could add more Florida golf to the calendar. When those dates land, we will update this guide.
